Review of Cake by Carmen Jenner

Poppy “Pop Tart” Porter is one of the all time best female characaters I have ever read. She is snarky, obsessed with cake, and when she falls a part, a complete mess. Leo “Nass the Ass” Nass is such an argonent, know-it-all, manwhore. This is my favorite type of romance which is friendemenies to lovers. Poppy and Leo have grown up together, with a few other friends. Knowing each other basically all their lives they know the good, the bad, and the ugly. That being said, there was never any real attraction between the two…until there was.

You will love the snarky comments thrown back and forth between these two. They make the art of fighting into such foreplay.

I am still laughing! It has been so long since I’ve read a rom-com that is so witty and laugh out loud funny. I am quickly looking up more books from Carmen Jenner. (Review by Terri “Jane”)

This was a total must read for me. I laughed, snorted and it was just what I needed and didn’t realize. Carmen knows how to write snarky Rom/Com and others should take notes. I loved the hate to love stories, especially when they are done so well. With Poppy and Leo’s story, you get that and then some. Poppy comes into this book with a chip on her shoulder and for great reasons and now she has to be in the presence of one of the people she despises most, even bigger bitter bitchy pill to swallow.

This is a book that will keep you turning the page, wanting to see what happens next, what is the next snarky and comedic thing can possibly happen now. Start reading this early and plan to not put it down….. -Review by Catherine(Catty)
