For me, Skye Warren never disappoints, and she totally didn’t this time either! I liked the new take on the escort/prostitute and the damsel in distress. While Bea may be sheltered and confined to her “tower” she is also witty, inventive, and sharp. She knows what she wants and whether she realizes it or not, she finds a way to get it.
Hugo has had a hard life. One that has seen extreme poverty and tragedy. Yet at this point in life he is very satisfied. “Working” when he wants, making the type of money to afford anything he wants. The only thing lacking is his need for vegence.
Fate brings his vengeance to him, as well as the very unexpected Bea Cartwright. (Review by Terri “Jane”)
